From our kitchen to yours.
After Dough started with two friends, a lot of sourdough and a sink full of stuck bowls. Here's how it came together, and where it is now.

1Where it started
A sink full of stuck bowls
We're Kay and Kayla, two friends who bake a lot of sourdough. Every bake ended the same way: dough dried onto the mixing bowl, the dough hook and the starter jar, then a long soak and a hard scrub to get it off.
Baking should feel joyful. The clean-up was turning it into a chore.

2The homework
Why soap wasn't working
Kayla is a chemist, so we looked at what dried dough actually is. It isn't grease. It's starch and gluten, and dish soap is made for grease.
So we built a cleaner around two food-grade enzymes: amylase for the starch and protease for the gluten, with gentle plant-derived cleansers so it all rinses away.

3A new name
Dissolve My Dough became After Dough
Our first bottles went out as Dissolve My Dough. Today it's After Dough: same formula, same enzymes, still mixed in small batches. Only the label changed.

4Where we are now
In kitchens across Australia and the UK
More than 120 bakers have given us five stars, and Garden & Grace featured us for plant-powered cleaning that actually works.
We still read every message and every review, and they shape what we make next.

Now you're saying things
Five months on, bakers are sending us videos of their own bowls and jars coming clean, and notes that make our day. Here are a few of them, just as they came in.
