What it does
Dish soap is built for grease. Dried dough is not grease. It is starch and gluten, which is why a crusted mixing bowl survives a hot soak and a hard scrub while a greasy pan comes clean in seconds.
After Dough is an enzyme cleaner. The enzymes work on the starch and gluten holding dried residue together, so the dough loosens and rinses away instead of needing to be chipped, scraped or soaked overnight.
What to use it on
- Stand mixer bowls, and the collar of the dough hook where dough packs in hardest
- Sourdough starter jars with dried discard up the sides
- Proving tubs and dough containers
- Bench scrapers, spatulas and worktops
How to use it
- Let the bowl or jar come down to room temperature, then add warm water. Not boiling: very hot water can set the residue harder.
- Add the cleaner and swirl it so it reaches the whole surface.
- Leave it for about 10 minutes. With thicker dough, agitate lightly partway through.
- Rinse. Heavily caked jars may want a second, shorter pass.

What exactly is After Dough?
An enzymatic cleaner that breaks down dough, starch and gluten so it lifts off bowls, hands, and surfaces with a rinse.
Why does it work when soap does not?
Most dish soaps push residue around. Our enzymes cut the starch chains directly so the dough lets go on its own.
Is it safe to pour down the drain?
Yes. The formula is biodegradable and rinses cleanly. Scrape solid dough into the bin though, since dough swells in water and blocks pipes.
